Dancing Classrooms Philly (DCP) is proud to celebrate its 10-year anniversary working with Philadelphia area students! This year’s Grand Final will take place on June 4, 2017, from 2-4pm at the University of the Arts, Levitt Auditorium, 401 South Broad Street, Philadelphia. Come be inspired! And, in honor of DCP’s 10th anniversary, the teaching artists will kick-off the event by performing a hustle routine.
As a part of each In-School Residency program, all 5th or 8th grade students learn social dances including the merengue, foxtrot, rumba, tango, swing, and waltz, plus selected “sugar” dances such as the cha cha and stomp. All schools that participate in the residency program have the option of participating in The Colors of the Rainbow Team Match, a ballroom dance competition.
