Come be a part of the seventh annual nonprofit Philadelphia Dance Day! A group of local dance companies have teamed up to offer a Saturday packed with more than 25 FREE workshops, live performances and a $5 evening dance party. The goal: to unite the community in celebrating dance as a powerful platform for creative expression and physical activity.
All dance enthusiasts regardless of experience are invited to take part in the fun on July 30, 2016. There will be something for everyone, from tap dancing to ballroom to hip-hop for all ages.
Tour studios around the city to sample as many free workshops as you like during the day, then come together in the evening for the main event at the historical Ethical Society Building on Rittenhouse Square. Festivities there include a hip-hop masterclass, an all-ages Zumba & Cardio Pop party and a variety of partner dance lessons. After that, the floor will open up for social dancing so you can practice what you learned earlier in the day. Volunteer instructors and well-respected dance groups in the city will also put on a performance showcase around 9:30 p.m.
