The Academy of Notre Dame de Namur in Villanova, PA, is holding its 42nd Annual Fine Art Show and Sale from Friday, January 30 - Saturday, February 7, 2015. The exhibition and sale will open with a catered preview reception with the artists on Friday, January 30, 2015, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in the Academy Mansion, located at 560 Sproul Road in Villanova, PA. Chairing the Art Show this year is Jen Curry.
The public is cordially invited to attend both the catered reception and the weeklong exhibit. The fine art show will be on display from noon to 4:00 p.m. daily beginning Saturday, January 31 through Saturday, February 7,2015. The exhibition features nearly 100 artists' works in a variety of mediums, including oils, watercolors,acrylics, sculptures, ceramics, and glass.
Tickets to the preview reception are $45 in advance and $50 at the door. Advance registration for the reception is encouraged by January 17, 2015. The weeklong exhibit is free of charge and open to the public from Saturday, January 31 through Saturday, February 7, 2015.
This year's featured artist is Brad Earl. Brad, a Chester Springs, PA, resident for more than 26 years has enjoyed a lifelong career in the field of architecture. A self-taught artist, he began painting in 1994, taking as his subjects slices of Americana, vacant buildings, street scenes, roadside diners, old theatre facades, and faded amusement parks.
Decidedly "architectural"? in nature, his scenes are infused with the feelings of a simpler time. Often characterized as places left behind by time itself, his work can be found in private collections in the United States and London.
New artists this year include: Magdy Barsoum, Linda Beisty, Kim Bogart, Kathy Byrnes, Maggie Hagstrom, Thomas Hopkinson, Janine McGuire, Christine Meyer, Eileen "Rudy� Miller, Dariusz Mlacki, Terry Morse, Janice Peck, Elise Phillips, Terry Plasket, Lisa Prinzo, and Evan Thomas.
