Event Features: Lecture, Seminar/Workshop Neighborhood: Fishtown, Northern Liberties  In this workshop, students will learn how to use contemporary analog products to their maximum potential. Technical aspects will be discussed in relation to each student's expressive needs understanding how film, paper and chemistry can be combined at their best. In a time when digital has become the standard medium for photography, we will discuss the benefits of using analog light-sensitive materials. Every decision made about your materials will effect the way your final print looks. Isolated, educated and informed decisions regarding each step of your analog workflow must be performed constantly. Various accessible films, papers and chemical processes will be covered thoroughly. This class will include an introductory shooting field trip, a supervised processing session, printing demonstrations, bleaching and toning demonstrations, as well as constructive class lectures and critiques. This class is essential for all photographers interested in getting the most out of analog black and white photography.
