So you've got your camera's bells & whistles figured out and your composition is improving with every shot you take. Where do you go next? Color! This workshop is designed as a logical progression from our basic introductory camera classes to a full-weekend immersion and is suited for any intermediate photographer eager to use color as a more creative force. Beyond color as mere description, color can be an emotion or mood, color can be graphic punch, color can be muted and serene, color can be abstraction, color can be a subject-unto-itself. The class will be a fun crash-course and will get you excited about rethinking your approach. We'll start off slowly with exercises in toning down your colors by shooting 1, 2, and 3-color photos. As we progress, you will learn how to utilize the color wheel. There will be plenty of exercises and mini-shooting assignments to get you thinking about color as a potent tool. By the end of the weekend, each student will have a small set of prints demonstrating new ideas and attitudes about color's function within a photograph. Technically, we will delve into white balance, in-camera settings, and also do some post-processing in Photoshop to shape the 'color story' of our images further.
