2018 ARTWELL AWARDS /// April 19 at the National Museum of American Jewish History /// Thrive. Dream. Lead. Join ArtWell on April 19, for an evening of celebration and community as they recognize visionary leaders who transform our world and inspire us all through arts, education, and social action. The evening will include dynamic youth and artist performances, a cocktail reception, delicious hors d’oeuvres from 12th Street Catering, and a ceremony celebrating 2018 honorees Councilmember Helen Gym, international artist Joe Brenman, and youth poet and activist Kadidja Cisse. Previous ArtWell Award recipients include esteemed poet Sonia Sanchez and acclaimed director Spike Lee.

The 2018 ArtWell Awards will take place on Thursday, April 19, 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at the National Museum of American Jewish History, across from Independence Mall and within view of the Liberty Bell (101 S. Independence Mall East).

City Councilmember, Chair of the Committee on Children and Youth, civil rights advocate, and community and education leader

KADIDJA CISSE /// STUDENT LEADER AWARD
ArtWell student leader, poet, performer, and youth activist

Funds raised from the 2018 ArtWell Awards support ArtWell’s mission to support young people and their communities through multidisciplinary arts expression, education, and creative reflection to celebrate their strengths, thrive while facing complex challenges, and awaken their dreams.

Since 2000, ArtWell has had the honor to work with hundreds of amazing partners including schools, libraries, diverse faith-based organizations, and health and social-service providers to serve an average of 1500 students per year across the Greater Philadelphia Region.
