Philly KEYSPOT is a network of 51 city-funded, public computing centers in low-income areas of Philadelphia, and a key city strategy for digital inclusion.
Each day, in neighborhoods from Point Breeze to Kensington, KEYSPOTs serve a diverse client-base including people experiencing homelessness, formerly incarcerated individuals, and the chronically unemployed.
This is an opportunity to gain a real and on-the-ground perspective of the challenges faced by these individuals, as well as stories of empowerment and long-term success.
KEYSPOT users and presenters will share their struggles and issues related to technology, and participants will work in small groups to come up with smart ideas for technology-based solutions. The winning idea will be submitted as a project at an upcoming Hackathon to produce a working product for social good. Refreshments will be provided!
This event is part of Philly Tech Week 2015 presented by Comcast.
