The Women & Influence Conference is a FREE annual conference that serves as a public forum for discussion and analysis on entrenched and emerging issues facing women and families in the region. Conference participants have the opportunity to listen, learn, discuss, and network throughout the day.
Each year, the conference examines a different issue area and this year the focus is on community strategies that sustain, empower and celebrate immigrant families. The centerpiece of this year's conference will be the lived experiences of women from across the various diasporas that comprise our region's cultural landscape. Through the lenses of personal narrative, language, art and public policy, the conference will explore how gender, race and social class shape the experiences of immigrants and their children.
Break-out sessions will focus broadly on three issues areas: Health, Economic & Leadership Development and Education/Youth. The closing keynote address will be delivered by Ai-Jen Poo, a 2014 MacArthur "Genius award winner and one of TIME's Most Influential People in 2012.
Registration is required. For more information and to register visit womensway.org/events
