Celebrate with us as we dedicate our new mural at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center. Staircases and Mountaintops: Ascending Beyond the Dream, a mural in three parts by Willis Humphrey aka Nomo and Jonathan Buss, reflects the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., for whom the center is named. In one section is a portrait of Harriet Tubman, an African-American abolitionist and humanitarian, alongside staircases and geometric designs that symbolize one's ability to achieve Dr. King's dreams. Another section features a depiction of a non-violent civil rights march led by Dr. King. Lastly, there is a new mosaic entrance to the Center, featuring a quote by Dr. King: 'Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase'.
