You are invited to the first Eye to Eye-Philadelphia Think Different Event on October 28th—an exciting opportunity for students with learning disabilities and/or ADHD and their parents! Two sessions, one for students and one for parents, will run simultaneously for two hours each.
Student Programming: Eye to Eye Art Room
During the student session, your child will work with successful college and high school student mentors with LD/ADHD from AIM Academy, The Pennington School, and Temple University on activities and art projects used in Eye to Eye's mentoring programs. Eye to Eye's near-peer mentoring program—typically only available to students enrolled in a school served by an Eye to Eye chapter—uses an proven arts-based social-emotional learning curriculum to engage students with math- and language-based learning disabilities (LD) in grades 4-8. The session promises to be two fun-filled hours of games and art projects designed to engage your child in conversations about metacognition, self-advocacy, and accommodations!
Parent Programming:
The parent session will include presentations from AIM's Director of Partnerships & Engagement, Deborah Lynam; an Eye to Eye Diplomat; and Eye to Eye National Program Coordinator, Mike Schumacher. In the session, you will learn valuable information and guidance from our experts on supporting and inspiring children with learning differences to help them succeed in school and in life.
