When delegates from the 13 colonies met to organize the Rebellion and build the framework of our Nation, it was natural they convene in the bustling, cosmopolitan capital of Pennsylvania--the second largest English-speaking city in the world at that time. The delegates were eager to get to know each other, the local representatives wanted to show their visitors a good time, and founding a nation is just plain hard work! So there was plenty of opportunity for relaxation and refreshment!

Join us for this engaging one-hour tasting as we sample the same wine varietals the Founding Fathers enjoyed while your instructor regales you with stories about Washington, Jefferson, Franklin and their drinking habits. We paint a picture of life in the City of Brotherly Love in the late 18th century and look at how the consumption of not only wine but also beer and other beverages evolved during the early history of our Country.

Your tasting will be led by Dave Bonette, a Revolutionary War buff and direct descendant of a Continental Army veteran. Dave is also a wine lover, homebrewer and Cicerone Certified Beer Server.
