Join us for an exclusive evening in Downtown Evansville on Friday, August 16th from 5pm until 10pm. We will hold the opening ceremonies for the first annual Evansville BBQ Fest to include a ribbon cuting with Mayor Lloyd Winnecke, world championship barbecue by BBQ grand champion Jim Johnsonl, special cooking tips, live bluegras music by St Paul and the Rooms and Moe-on-the-Jo & friends, and with several beer pouring areas featuring Miller/Coors products. Tickets are limited.

The Evansville BBQ Festival, presented by Vectren, a CenterPoint Energy Company, is coming to Downtown Evansville on August 16th and 17th, 2019. EvansvilleEvents.com and Evansville Convention & Visitor’s Bureau is hosting this masters-level barbecue competition, officially sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society. It will attract barbecue professionals from throughout the country, serving up a wide range of barbecue types and flavors to compete for $5000 in prize money. Entry categories to include chicken, pork ribs, pork butt and brisket.
The event will also include a SICE Custom Car & Hot Rod Show with about 100 cars from throughout the region.
The BBQ Fest will be located across from the New IU Medical School and between Walnut and Locust Street. Friday night will be a ticketed 21 and older event with live music and BBQ sampling featuring world renowned barbecue champion, Jim Johnson. Tickets will be available soon. Saturday is FREE to the public with live music with barbecue for sale.
